Windstar cruises: Small ships, big fun
Windstar cruises 3-masted sailing ships are small enough to give cruisers an intimate feel (148312 passengers) but big enough that you don’t have to do any of the work! In the summer, Windstar Cruises’ ships all head out to Europe and the Mediterranean, and since they are small, can go to ports the large ships can’t enter. In the fall and winter, Central America (Costa Rica) and the Caribbean are the mainstays of these small ships.

Windstar cruises: Ships and reviews
Windstar Cruises are for the adventurous (dive off the back of the ship and snorkel!) and those who really want to get away from it all (not a lot of the glitz, glamour, and “Vegas-style revues” you find on the larger ships). Windstar Cruises currently has three ships: Wind Spirit, Wind Star, and Wind Surf. Wind Spirit and Wind Star carry 148 passengers each and Wind Surf carries 312 passengers. All ships have spacious, modern cabins and suites. There is not a lot of nightlife on these ships but fresh popcorn is brought to the cabin at night so you can relax and watch movies with your sweetie.

Windstar cruises: Casual and sophisticated
"Casual elegance" is the designated dress code for Windstar Cruises. Guests leave their ties and formal wear at home in favor of country club casual sportswear. Passengers linger over dinner, sampling delicious entrées developed by renowned chef Joachim Splichal of Los Angeles’s Patina, Pinot Bistro, and Octavio Becerra. Sail Light and vegetarian meals were designed by health guru Jeanne Jones, developer of spa menus for Canyon Ranch Spa and the Pritikin Longevity Center.
