The staff were great, but our room was dirty — hair and dust bunnies on the bathroom floor, wet carpet in the room, and a weird smell. The bed was very uncomfortable and we both woke up with sore necks and backs (not a typical occurance.

Check in is at 4:00 and they won’t let you check in even 5 minutes early without wanting to charge you. Our stay was fine. We chose this hotel because it’s walkable to the hockey game. There’s no parking so you have to use valet which is fine but please have someone staffed there if that is how you’re doing it. After 20 minutes of waiting, the manager came over to help us. It was the same the next morning when we were ready to leave.

The Americus Hotel is steeped in history and it is sooo unique. The decor and the restored Ballroom, the original Reception Desk from the 1920, the Bar, and the Murals are wonderful!!!

Unclean, poorly staffed property. Sign at desk indicates housekeeping is done 1x every 3 days “for the safety of the staff”. Cars drag raced outside all night, people wandering outside and yelling at 4am. In-room thermostat is controlled by the front desk. Overall very dirty(dirty floors, hair in bathroom, stains on furniture) and poorly renovated hotel.

If you love a good ol hotel, this is a must stay. Every time I travel to Allentown I stay at the Americus Hotel. The staff is amazing and the bartenders are top notch. If your lucky enough, you may meet some of the permanent guests; or at least experinece their presence.
