We were only aim Antwerp for one night so we were looking for a convenient location, and this hit the mark. Practically steps away from the train station. The room itself was incredibly nice. Staff was friendly. Very nice bar/lounge area. Made for a great place to have a cocktail after, a long afternoon out sightseeing or a nightcap. For a one night stay, it was absolutely perfect. During an eight night trip throughout the Netherlands and Belgium, the room here was the nicest that we encountered. Very large room with a lot of nice amenities.

We love this property because of its proximity to and view of the train station. This time we got a room with a view - thoroughly enjoyed that as the sky changed from afternoon sun to dusk to dark to morning sun! The breakfast buffet is not great and both times we've stayed here the checkin process has been quite lengthy - I think we were in line about 40 minutes this time.

The security safe had been removed, the room was smaller than illustrated, no work station, internally noisy, room was supposed to have a view, the room was worn down, some of the plugs worked, none of the usb ports were operational, congested hotel, dinner took 90 min to prepare, limited staff and support on the day of check in, i arrived 1 hour early after a transatlantic flight and was told to come back in an hour. I will not visit again.

The price of this hotel's rooms is too high in my opinion. I spent a fortune to stay in an incredibly hot room which I could not cool down because according to the front desk "the whole hotel was on heating mode and couldn't be changed". I ended up having to sleep with the window open (barely open for the necessary security lock) enduring the external noises throughout the night. I also want to point out that I booked a room-only rate hoping to save a bit, but I feel it was still a pretty expensive option. The breakfast was an additional 27 euros/day which seems an exorbitant amount of money for a single meal: I spent less eating a steak in a nearby restaurant! I must also point out that the housekeeping staff was pretty noisy in the hallway during the morning; I wanted to sleep in since I was on holiday but more than once I got woken up by them tossing around the vacuum cleaner and talking loudly to each other across the hallway. Finally, I asked for a king bed and got a room with 2 twin pushed together. As a fairly large individual, I rolled over during the night and found myself on the floor when the two beds drifted apart. I definitely cannot recommend this property.

Radisson Blu Disappoints in English Language TV
The Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel in Antwerp is a superior hotel: central location, comfortable rooms, nice bar and restaurant, fitness center and even an indoor pool. So what’s to complain about? The lack of English speaking news channels on its TV. BBC, CNN, EuroNews, even Al Jazeera are not available because they are high definition. (Thankfully, there is France 24 in English!) English is widely spoken in Antwerp so one would think English-speaking guests at the Radisson would be better accommodated. Travellers who value their hotel stays as more than just a bed to sleep in, appreciate the TV in their room as much as the bed.

Disappointing despite room upgrade…
I was unable to check in for 1-2h after arriving as a huge group had just arrived. However this gained me a room upgrade to a junior suite. Unfortunately this placed me on the floors with all the young families and it was very loud indeed but luckily slept well. Mainly I was annoyed that both spa facilities were out of order as I only book hotels with these because want to use them! However free parking with silver hotels.com membership and for the full 2nd day.

Room for improvement
40 minutes queue standing in line for check-in. Never experienced this anywhere else in the world. No apologies from receptionist. Clearly, it's no use complaining to reception as management must be fully aware and is clearly condoning this. Room needed a deep clean. Found bits of hair in various places. Bathroom door was broken and unhinged and therefore did not close. We complained but nothing was done.

Great location for exploring the city, especially if you're traveling by train. It's okay overall and some of the staff are nice ave courteous. The property is kind of tired with some bits falling off, rusting, moulding here and there. Pillows were just awful, turning nearly flat as soon as you lay on them. In the "health center" hamam wasn't working but dry sauna was okay. There's some construction in progress by the pool. The property is listed as "VIP Access" but they only see free self-parking on their system (which we didn't need), so not only you don't get any room upgrades, they also give you a room with least amenities available. For example, we saw many people show up at the pool in hotel robes and slippers which our room didn't have.
