"Great apartment and property! Short walk to a small beach cove where turtles frequent. Space was clean and had every amenity possible from a laundry basket, to cell phone chargers, sunscreen, and plenty of linens. AC cooled well and was available in both the living room and bedroom areas. Full kitchen was great to have with most all food places closing by 5pm. Bed was very comfortable and large closet offered length of storage space. Would absolutely stay here again when in the Paia!"

"This property is a hidden gem, I would recommend this place to anyone! Don’t let the exterior fool you, the inside is remodeled and is an amazing location! The parking spot, proximity to hidden beach area, and not to mention mamas fish house are top notch!"

"You don't absolutely need a car for Howzit Maui, but it's really helpful. The hostel arranges daily tours and activities, but if you don't make it onto the sign up sheet, then you need to make your own arrangements. There are plenty of people who have car rentals, so making alternate plans isn't a big deal. There are six shared bathrooms (with showers) and a seventh just for women. There are two more washrooms on the main floor. They get pretty busy in the morning and at night. Pancakes and coffee are served every morning! It's a great way to start your day, but get some fruit when you can! lol"

"We absolutely loved getting to use this car. The hosts were extremely helpful with providing extra blankets and a tarp since the weather mentioned rain. We love how organized the trunk was with the camping gear. It is a tight squeeze back there, so not many more items would fit. Plenty of enough space for 2 people, since we used the backseat for our luggage. It would be a bit more difficult with more than 2. Check-in process was a bit difficult only because on the listing it said they can meet at the airport, when I inquired they said they no longer do that (for valid reasons) so expect to uber to their house. It isn't a far uber but you will spend at least $15 each way."

"This is a nice apartment to use as a base if you're doing the Road to Hana or want to spend your days out and about on the island. There's a great general store/cafe in walking distance with wonderful coffee, pastries, smoothies, poke, and sandwiches. (A good spot to get picnic items if you're headed to Hana). The downtown of Paia is a short drive away (great food and vibes). This apartment is also an incredibly short walk to Mama's Fish House, which is definitely worth the splurge (get a reservation!) if you're staying here. The apartment itself is as described. Clean and convenient. I'm picky about beds and found this one to be comfortable. We also appreciated the ceiling fan in the bedroom and the A/C unit which kept the whole apartment nice and cool. While the bed is comfortable, I wouldn't say this apartment is one where you want to spend a lot of time hanging out in it. There's limited seating in the living room and the patio table outside is absolutely fine, but it's more basic vs. a comfy place to lounge. But since there is a great beach behind Mama's fish house within walking distance, that's where you'll probably hang out anyway if you aren't out and about on the island or in downtown Paia. (The one thing I will note is that we were disappointed they no longer have beach chairs that you can take with you to the beach. They do however have beach towels). We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for the Road to Hana and it worked out great for us."
