Superb location with a view of the South Kona coast from the Lanai! A mile away from some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii.
Carl & Emma were awesome hosts, catering to our many small needs. Looking forward to coming back here soon!
A wonderful host and a beautiful property. We would stay here again for sure.
There are ranchers cattle and wild pigs about 20 feet from the back property line. The bulls can be loud, and the local roosters will greet you in the morning...but we loved it.
If this B & B has an opening GRAB IT!
It’s great. Hosts are lovely and the breakfast is amazing. The breakfast was catered to my 6 year old grandson.
Thanks to the hosts.
We loved it.
Other than the very vocal local frogs it was a nice, quiet, low-key location on the island, which is what I was looking for. All my needs were met and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. They also made a nice breakfast I enjoyed before heading to my next stop on the island. Of you are looking to stay out of the more touristy areas this is a lovely place to stay.
Amazing views of ocean and sunset from the room/ balcony! Very friendly and informative hosts, who not only provided the info about snorkeling in the area, but also let us borrow the snorkeling gear, etc for the day! Lovely breakfast served in stunning backdrop!
This was our first time using a B&B and it was great! I picked Hale Hoola B&B because of the location and the great reviews and they were right on. The views from the room are amazing. Our activities were mainly on the east and south side of the "big island" so the location made everything easy to reach by car. Carl and Alma were excellent hosts and really made every effort to make the stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were so delicious and I think all the fruit and avocado came from their garden!
I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place was. Clean room, well stocked bathroom, comfortable bed and a fabulous lanai right next to a lush forest jungle. We saw wild pig, cows, Cardinals, geckos and beautiful Flora. Ocean view, too. The breakfast was delicious. The owners were charming. I look forward to staying here again.
Absolutely loved staying here. Great communication, great recommendations, owners are so incredibly nice and attentive. Quiet at night (no street noise or drunken party shenanigans - just the sound of the island critters) and beautiful views all the way around. If I had a choice between a 5* resort and Hale Hoola, I’d choose this B&B hands down first no questions asked.
This is a perfect little B&B for couples away from the main city of Kona with a very warm and welcoming feel. From the airport it is about a 40 minute drive so you definitely need a car, but I think the distance was what I loved most about our trip. We were away from the the touristy areas, which gave us the opportunity to have a more authentic Hawaiian experience.
The room itself was wonderful, and we loved the Lanai. There is no A/C but it was never needed even on 87 degree days. The ceiling fan and and open window was perfect. There is also no TV. I thought I would hate this but TV’s are a time suck and I’m so glad we didn’t have one to take away from the many things you can do on the island. The wildlife around the property was so neat to be around from wild pigs, geckos, and roosters. We are from a big city and never get to experience it.
Parking is free, but tight. I was glad we had a smaller vehicle.
The owners are absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was beyond amazing and that alone would bring me back. They welcomed us like we were family.
I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a wonderful experience on the big island.
Great place to stay with beautiful view. Owners so welcoming & helpful. Delicious breakfast and good coffee. Loans of snorkeling gear & boogie boards were so beyond expected. Staying there again on our way back from Bolcano
Off the beaten path. The room was very clean and comfortable. No surprises except for the balcony that I didn’t expect. The view from the room was very picturesque overlooking the plush foliage and the ocean in the distance. The owners were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. If I am ever back this way I would most definitely want to stay here again.
