"This is a standard older motel located close to Katoomba with fair access off the highway. We enjoyed our overnight upstairs stay on a comfortable zipped king bed but found the one pillow per sleeper inadequate. Good aircon, necessary for climate. Nice view from large window."

"Based on other reviews I had low expectations but, considering the low price and excellent location, I thought it was pretty good. The place is about 15 years overdue for a refurb, with everything a bit shabby and worn, hence the budget price. However the location, looking across the river from a balcony, was great. "Staying at Madison’s Mountain Retreat was the perfect getaway and experience for my family. We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the grounds. Anne’s warm welcome and knowledge about the animals was excellent and we all enjoyed feeding the Alpacas, Llamas & Goats. The indoor pool was great for a quick swim & we felt nice and cosy in the rustic cabin accommodation which had a lovely view of the alpacas and farm. We will definitely be back. "
