When we first arrived the room had not been cleaned, there was urine left inside of the toilet nobody flushed it. The bed was a king size sitting on top of 2 twin size box frames. Also the bed was bent inwards on one side which was super uncomfortable. Every time we called for room service or extra toilet paper, because they only give you one roll at a time, they made us come down to pick it up and would not bring it up to us. Staff was super rude I would not come here again and don’t advise you to either!

The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly, the location was excellent, just 2 short blocks to Waikiki beach. The rooms could use updating but if so the price would be a lot higher. I would stay there again.

The hotel was older (not a big deal at all) but there were zero upgrades done to the property. The doors use regular keys and there is not a deadbolt. There is a sign in the room stating that you should keep valuables in the safe… I guess they are not secure in your room. These are items I can look past. Four days into my six day stay, I get a knock on the door while taking a nap. It’s room service and she states “room service” and I politely decline and go back to napping. Five minutes later, another knock and someone is demanding I open the door. I thought it was room service so I said “no thanks” and she said “open the door now” so I quickly put on shorts and open it. She said “why are you here, this room should have been vacant as of yesterday” and my response was, “I hope not I have 3 more days” and she demands my name and says she will look into it. I checked all my online booking information and went downstairs to confirm what I have. She greets me very rudely and states that she will have to wait to talk to her Mananger but I was checked out as of the prior day. Look, I understand there are mishaps and errors but the rude tone was not called for. She also never got back to me on if everything was corrected… I had to reach out to the chat option on Expedia. The room was ok, it did smell like stagnant water but besides that, the lack of upgrades and the rude staff (just that lady, everyone else was incredible), the Royal Grove is at a great location in Waikiki.

This is a cheap hotel. Sketchy guests were always in lobby. The door to the room had a flimsy lock, the walls dirty, strong smell of mildew, many carpet stains. Given the demographic of the occupants, it did not feel safe. In Waikiki, you definitely get what you pay for. Skip this one.
