Cozy house on the river, enjoy the view or fish right off the river bank

The Trout River Getaway is a cozy house directly on the beautiful Trout River, nestled under the canopy of big old shady trees. Watch the pelicans, herons, seagulls, or osprey right in front of you and watch the sunsets or do some barbecue on the deck in the back. Enjoy a bit of an "old Florida feel" under the old gorgeous oaks and magnolias or fish right off the river bank. The house is newly renovated with modern interior. Access to I-95 and I-295 is round the corner. The location is close to the airport, the nice parks along Jacksonville coastline, the Zoo, downtown, the stadium and the beaches.

Great Location on the trout River, beautiful little spot however the neighborhood is working on improvement so there is some eclectic culture going on. It’s an easy enough drive to any of the hotspots, including downtown and going to Savannah. Nothing nearby:walkable regrading food, coffee etc., but the river lot makes up for any of that.

Petra was very responsive to anything we needed! The place is cozy and clean. Well stocked for eating in if you wish. A few neighborhood eateries close if you wanted to eat out. We went for a football game. The property is close enough to the stadium (15 minutes away). We enjoyed the stay!

Just what my sister needed
I got this stay as a birthday present for my sister C and my other sister S stayed as well. C was very much in need of a tranquil, relaxing getaway and this fit the bill exactly. Petra is an excellent host! My sisters had everything they needed. They stayed the whole entire time as they brought groceries and had everything they needed to cook their own meals. The home is in excellent condition and fully stocked. Petra was very kind, generous and responsive. We are bookmarking this lovely place for future getaways and recommend it without hesitation!

Quiet Get-Away Home to Relax
This is a wonderful property to just get away to unwind in. We came to the Jacksonville area to visit family so we were looking for a comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day. The views of the river in the morning with coffee (on the deck when it was warm) were breathtaking. Many birds to watch and enjoy. The house was a wonderful place to share a meal with our relatives one night and to play games. The bedrooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Petra was wonderful in her response and concern for any needs we might have. She is a wonderful host. The location is close to the airport, but not very close to anything we may have been interested in touring. However, we would stay here again.

My wife and I came over to Jacksonville to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived about an hour early and met the property owner, Petra, finishing up a few task in the yard. She is a super sweet lady that is super accommodating. She made sure our stay was the best. She also helped me in recommending some good restaurants. My wife and I had a lot of plans in Jacksonville and surrounding beaches. The property is located about 15 mins from all the great places to visit and eat. If you have ever visited a big city like Jacksonville, a 10-15 minute drive to anyplace you want to see (other than the beaches) is more than perfect. The last night we ordered Pizza. We chose a place called Stoney's pizza and it was incredible. Maybe the best pizza I've ever had. Make sure to get the cookies also. Wow. The property sits right on the water. Big windows on the back on the house to see it. The kitchen had spices, coffee and even some hot coco I made late at night. The house is super clean, plenty of towels, hot water, and she even had a bag of ice in the freezer. Thank you Petra for providing such a great house to stay.
