Hotel is in a great location close to Aldgate East tube station, so easy for getting around. Only a short walk away from Brick lane and Spitalfields market. Hotel is very nice, we had a deluxe king which had very comfy beds and nice pillows. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but found there were some amazing cafes nearby where we had breakfast/brunch each day. Exmouth coffee roasters was particularly good. Amazing coffee and breakfast was delicious.
Not much choice for eating out close to hotel in the evening is the only downside. Lots of fast food places down Brick lane but nothing we really fancied.
My only criticism of the hotel was them trying to charge for extras without informing you. First of all when checking in on self check in, they tried to charge £11 service charge. I had to go to the main reception for over ride this. I don’t see why I should pay for a service charge when I am yet to have service. Also they tried to charge for the some water provided in the bedroom. It’s a 4 star hotel, so bottled water should be provided as standard anyway, but if you plan to charge for these things, you must make it clear in the rooms that this is the case so guests can make an informed decision.
Other than that, no complaints. We found the area fine, just what you would expect in central London. I wouldn’t wander around on my own at night, but that’s no different from any other major city at night.
