I booked a 3 nights stay at this hotel for a solo me time trip, the main selling point for me was the sound proofing. Next Hotel Melbourne is a newish hotel in the Melbourne CBD. The hotel is a great location for convenient access to the trams, with a few minutes walk through Southern Cross Lane to access the 86 and 96 route trams. During the weekday Southern Cross Lane has a nice range of food and cafe options. The hotel is almost right next door to the Stamford Hotel. The hotel has beautiful appointed rooms, with very comfortable beds, there's the option to choose your own type of pillow and the rooms have ambient lighting. There are tea bags and coffee capsules available for use. The hotel also provides robes, however if you require slippers, you need to call reception. The bathrooms are quite roomy with the option of the hand held shower or the rain shower, both had good water pressure. The bathroom also has full size bottles of nice toiletries to use. The most impressive thing about the bathroom would be the Dyson hairdryer, this was a very nice addition to the room. The view from my room was nothing spectacular, I had to close one blind on the window for the entirety of my trip because the window is facing an office. I requested a quiet room when I checked into the hotel, so the reception staff member assigned me a corner room. I was disappointed to discover on the weekend that the room in fact had no sound proofing because I could hear loud music from the n

Everything is good except the glass shower door has big gap from the standing glass panel, which leaks water so much that it became nuisance every time I did shower. I think the management should figure out a way to solve this annoying problem to meet the high standard they set themselves up. Love the credit policy for housekeeping break. It’s a win win strategy!

Room was not set correctly when we arrived. When I call about this concern the staff were quite rude and reluctant to assist. We had to move rooms as a result and I had to confirm if a new key was being brought to the room or if I was required to go to reception, I was told it would be brought to us in the room. Unfortunately this took over 20mins for them to do and we were already running quite behind because of the room issue already. I called after 20 mins to see if it would be quicker for me to visit reception and was dismissed saying ‘yea they’re coming, goodbye’. For the money spent on 1 hotel room (which came with 1 towel, no sleeping pillows and a completely sold out room service menu) we have been left feeling disappointed and will not be staying here or recommending this hotel to others.

Next Hotel is perfectly located - moments walk to access Collins Street, Bourke Street and Flinders Lane, all of which we needed quick access to during our stay. The hotel was moody in a designer Melbourne aesthetic. The comfortable and rich vibe of the hotel bar offered an enjoyable starting spot for an evening drink whilst the king room was well sized with the beautiful bathroom and blockout blinds being a favourite. Special callout for getting to choose the colour of the room key card!

I stayed here while attending the Australian Open and it was nice that the hotel was walkable to the Open complex. It's right in the heart of Melbourne and there were tons of restaurants and stores nearby as well. Hotel is in great condition, super clean and staff was very friendly and welcoming.
