Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The hotel is in a very central location for theatres, Times Square and the city, however the reception area and lift lobby were very dark and the bar area was devoid of atmosphere, long and dreary with disinterested unfriendly staff. The hotel is faded grandeur and reliant on the previous reputation and were upgrading the reception area. The room we stayed in was shabby but clean and incredibly noisy with mechanical noise through the air con. We moved rooms on the 3rd night to a room of equal standard which was cleaner, fresher decor and no noise, therefore AVOID room 703. The day reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The French cafe is a concession buisness and the only one in the hotel for breakfast, very nice staff but it is extremely expensive and they tried to pass off Liptons yellow tea bags as English breakfast tea and told us that it the favourite tea of the British!
