"Beautiful setting in a remote location. The condominium was very comfortable, almost like home. Wish we could have stayed longer.
If you are going to stay at Colony I, do your grocery shopping before arriving. Closest grocery store is a 30 min. drive. Same with dining. Be mindful that there are few restaurants near the property, and after 6 PM it's a 30 min drive minimum. "

5/5 Excellent
"I am super impressed with how easy check in was, received an email with specific details. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. It was extra nice that our breakfast was in the room, especially because we wake up earlier than most guest.
If we ever return to Volcano, we will absolutely be staying here again.
Lots of restaurant options very close, the national park is extremely close too. Overall the perfect stay for my family. "

"We stayed in the cottage and it was exceedingly charming and comfortable. Staff were truly kind and gracious, and we had two great meals at the main restaurant. The nature trail on the property was a nice bonus. Great location near the national park and close to other restaurants, too. Staying at the Kilauea Lodge was the highlight of our trip."

"If only we could have stayed longer!
We had booking the glamping unit, but because of water issues Theresa switched us to the Bungalow, which was so cosy.
She agreed alternative breakfast arrangements as we had to leave early on checkout. We only had time to meet the chickens and ducks at the doorstep, but we saw the donkey and goats sheltering from the rain! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're making a trip to Volcano NP. "

"I stayed two nights in Wolfie One. It was like a private cabin in a tropical forest. It is one of four units in a single building each unit having one corner of the building. There is a parking space, a nice, covered porch outside the entry, then a living room, a bedroom and a bath. In the living room there is a small refrigerator, a coffee maker but no microwave. There is a TV and DVD player. Do read the small instruction card to learn how to turn on the cable box and the TV.
The water is NOT potable but a jug of drinkable water is provided. I had to keep the bedroom door closed to keep the smoke detector quiet. The check-in desk is at the nearby but separate Ace Hardware store which is unusual but workable. I had breakfast at the nearby Kilauea Lodge; highly recommended. I also enjoyed Ohelo Cafe for lunch."
