Getting around Perth
Most Perth residents get around by car, and if you can rent a car of your own too, this will give you some extra flexibility. There are good public transportation options too, though. Most corners of the city are covered by either bus, train or ferry. Buy a Smartrider card to pay for all your travel. The card can be topped up again and again, and offers a 10 percent discount on every journey you take. Visit the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia website.Browse Perth rental cars.
Best time to visit
Perth’s hottest months are November through March. To avoid the peak temperatures, visit during Perth’s springtime, which runs from September to November. Pack for beautiful, sunny days and evenings cool enough to demand a light jacket. This is also a wonderful time of year visually, as Perth’s colorful array of wildflowers will be in full bloom.
