Scenic and private and quiet hideaway with EV charger

The Nest is a private resting spot for outdoor loving people from all walks of life. The walls are covered with maps and caving art and photographs. The decor is retro and comfortable.
The Nest is located next to an archaic spring/meditation spot. The deck is great for yoga and having friends over.
The Nest is near Cloudland Canyon State Park with miles of scenic hiking, Johnson's Crook caving area, Hang Gliding launch site and miles or rock climbing. Several restaurants are nearby.

The space

The Nest is quiet and private. The Old Indian Spring is a spiritual site you will feel immediately. The house is completely shaded with large oak trees in summer making AC unnecessary but available. The Nest faces a mountain stream with rhododendron, mountain laurel, holley, and Hemlock.
The bedroom has a continuous room filter with hepa and charcoal filters. Your rooms are cleaned and sanitized after every visit. The rooms are thoroughly smudged with white sage. Linens are washed with chlorine bleach. Sanitizer with bleach is used in the bathroom, food preparation area, door knobs and light switches.

Guest access

You have two rooms plus bathroom with private entrance, plus access to the open as well as screened in deck.

Mixed feelings, but overall good
It didnt occur to me that this would be a shared home that we occupied one end of, but it was good overall. Little warm for our liking, had tv issues, but the shower would take the spots off a leopard while the toilet flush had you thinking a plunger might be necessary. The mentioned creek wasnt running, but it was still a beautiful area near everything we wanted. Road is gravel on the rougher side, but not too bad. Not much of a freezer in the mini fridge and the main bed was fairly firm while the day bed was a great nap spot. Overall a great, quiet, and peaceful trip. Checkout Cafe 136 right down the road for awesome homemade food.

Great location for hikers
The property was clean, serene and just as presented. It's within a mile or so of Cloudland Canyon State Park. It has all your basic essentials. We visited Chattanooga as well. Getting to watch the hang gliders was a real treat. We will stay here again.

I'll describe this property as "jumbled"...
This property, while in a great area, wasn't really great as I considered it too "jumbled" due to Jim having too much stuff lying around. The kitchen had only a 15 amp breaker servicing a microwave, coffee pot, convection oven, and hot plate. We were concerned that we'd trip an electrical breaker with using too many appliances, therefore did not cook very much. We left after one day, going to a pet friendly hotel in Chattanooga.

Unreal
Do not stay here. Do not attempt to stay here. When I arrived at 11pm, I followed the directions, walked across the front, and tried to enter the rental. I tried the code several times, but it would not open. Jim messaged and asked if I got in ok. I responded within two minutes and told him I could not get in. I waited alone, in the very dark driveway on a mountain top for a while, but received no response. I went to a hotel at 1130pm. Jim responded over an hour later, after I was checked into the hotel. During the sort, Jim told VRBO he tried to help me and it was resolved. This is untrue. Jim accused me of not following directions, trying to enter the wrong door, and of using the wrong code. I sent him an image of the correct code I entered on the lockbox. I described the place. I asked for a refund. Jim refused to refund my money. He charged me a cleaning fee, a dog fee, and two nights fee, but I did not stay at the property. I could not get in! He then sent me pics of the open box and stated I entered the wrong code. Again, I sent images of the check-in code and the same code on the lockbox, but he continued to accuse me of using the wrong code. Jim finally refunded the cleaning fee, but still charged me for the dog who never set foot in the place. I never set foot in the place either, but he charged me $150+/-. The code did not work for the lockbox. It was 11pm on a very dark mountian in rural GA. What was I supposed to do? Sleep in the driveway? I could not get in. Jim is sorry for my troubles, but kept my money. The place is also a trailer. Buyer beware.

Pleasant and peaceful
Beautiful property up on Lookout Mountain. Definitely a great spot for hikers, hang gliders, or Rock City. We came up following gps and took us around the mountain and up the other side. We discovered the route as if you were going to Rock City on that side of the mountain and the view is spectacular! I recommend going to Jims that way:) We enjoyed our stay!

A Great Price in a Beautiful Location
I would say this place was ideal for what we were looking for in a stay. My girlfriend and I primarily went there to hike in Cloudland Canyon, and the Nest is just a 8-12 minute drive to most trails, and there was even one trail that I could walk to in about 25 minutes. The meditation creek looks even better in person than the pictures. It’s a great place to unwind after a day of hiking. Jim, who lives on the other side of the house and owns the place, has a warm personality and was quick to answer any questions we had.

Great place
The Internet works great and I was able to do a few days of Remote work while staying here. The owner has added some small kitchen appliances which allowed us to warm up meals right at the house. The dogs love the yard. Very convenient to nearby trails. Would stay again.

so very close to Cloudland Canyon
The Nest is so very close to Cloudland Canyon and convenient to the eateries along the highway there. Seems like a great place for hikers, mountain bikers, trail runners, etc. The dogs loved running through the yard and playing in the creek. We were pleasantly surprised that the property is definitely cooler than Chattanooga. However, in the dead heat of summer it still got a little stuffy trying to sleep at night. Internet performance was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. There are three routes to get to Chattanooga depending on where you are going and how traffic is on a given day. We would stay here again.

Runner’s Retreat
My husband and 2 dogs and I rented the Nest for a 2 night stay over the weekend I participated in the Chattanooga 50 miler. It was the perfect location just minutes away from Cloudland Canyon State Park. Jim met us when we got there and told us our dogs had plenty of room to run and play off leash in the yard and by the crystal clear creek running behind the home. The two room, one bath section of the home was all we needed. There’s no microwave but the toaster oven worked just fine for heating up some leftovers. My husband enjoyed hanging out at the peaceful location during the day and I enjoyed an epsom salt bath in the clean tub after my run. I would recommend this to a one to two person group that needs a place close to the park. We didn’t miss having a TV but we did enjoy that there was WiFi. Thank you for your kindness during our stay Jim!

Not what I expected.
Wasn't expecting a sectioned off double wide. There were "covers" on the chairs, because it's an animal friendly place, and although these covers were washed, there were still big grease spots on them. It was weird. Also, the description says kitchen. It was a coffee pot and mini-fridge.

Ok but kinda sketchy
Lock on inside of front door would not latch. Electrical outlets need repair , mattress topper had “something “ on it . Drive way was terrible , a car would not be able to go down without scrubbing . Did not mention that the room we would stay in is connected to another house , no kitchen , no microwave , no tv . We ended up going to a hotel that would accommodate our needs . Maybe ok for some but not for us .

What we were looking for
My husband and I stayed here to visit Cloudland Canyon and a few places in the area. It was a great price and exactly what we were looking for. It is under 5 minutes from Cloudland Canyon. The room was clean and had all the basics. The bed was comfortable. No complaints here.
