"You don't absolutely need a car for Howzit Maui, but it's really helpful. The hostel arranges daily tours and activities, but if you don't make it onto the sign up sheet, then you need to make your own arrangements. There are plenty of people who have car rentals, so making alternate plans isn't a big deal. There are six shared bathrooms (with showers) and a seventh just for women. "It served as a safe harbor with a bed. That's all we were looing for. Hotels.com had the wrong address, so we had to call the hostel to find the location. A little less than we expected in terms of number of showers and toilets. Staff was friendly, and we met other travelers. Some tiny ants in the room near any food left outside the fridge."

"For the price, the property is definitely worth staying at. It’s a good value. Location is really nice near plenty of walkable restaurants and food park. Pool areas were nice and not overly crowded. Staff was great. Food at restaurant on property is just mediocre."
