"We thoroughly appreciated this peaceful, private home away from home, which far exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, light-filled, had phenomenal ventilation, and was equipped with thoughtful amenities: refrigerator/freezer, hot plate, microwave oven, and coffee maker with all the fixings and snacks to boot. The kindness of the Hosts was so apparent in their lending to guests outstanding Hawaiiana reading material and maps, user-friendly cable TV, flashlight, ice chest, binoculars,...

"Great place to stay - just as advertised. While not fancy or luxurious, it is very nice, comfortable and clean and in a spectacular location. Having morning coffee on lanai overlooking the ocean cannot be beat. Probably the best stocked kitchen in rental that we have ever had. Saul is an attentive (in a very good way) host. He provides great welcoming touches, including a bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers."

No, this house is filled with a spirit of its own where you can feel the life of all those that have passed through these doors. If the walls could speak it would tell you the stories of some great writer who sat where you are now staring out to the stream below. If there was one word to describe this house...

"Fun and comfortable place to stay for Hilo portion of Big Island tour. We enjoyed the coqui frog chorus and appreciate available umbrellas, ponchos, and snorkeling gear even though we brought our own. Very close to zoo, and we enjoyed morning snorkel at Clarksmith beach a short drive across town."

"The rental process was easy. Access was easy. The house was clean and copious amenities were available. The location was central to many of our experiences. We felt like we were able to really learn the roads and felt accomplished when we were able to find our way without using Maps. The ocean right outside of most windows and doors was exactly what I wanted and the sound of the waves was perfect for sleep. Very loud at times but so what? Loud in a really good way. No problem with bugs, even...

"We are not resortish people and this was a great alternative. everything we needed was in walking distance or short drive. Nights were peaceful and we enjoyed the privacy of the pool and hot tub. The odd plane flying over when the winds were rarely in that direction was actually quite a site rather than annoyance. Jomo looked after a couple of requests immediately. Thanks for a great stay."

"The Wild Ginger offers the true big island lodging experience. Staff is young, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have a lovely vintage vibe. Anyone that has something negative to say about this hotel probably shouldn't be visiting this island. This place rocks! Stay Here!"
